Married Life...

Oh! So he will be my better half, I thought, looking into the happy eyes of my parents,

Finally, the man of your dreams appear  promising a heavenly ride,

Those bollywood songs and blushing flowers, this is how the “courtship” glides,

Yes, it was difficult to keep my very own family aside, they were the best and my pride,

But now, you are my groom, my life and for sure, I will be the best bride,

With all the hopes intact in my heart and promises in mind, I walked by your side,

Bundle of love, hopes and affection is what I have brought with me to sprinkle over my newly “married life”………

I can’t say, you say and when you can’t say, I say, we fight, we mis-communicate... there  is so much to understand,

You don't like this, you don't like that...I am changing inside out on your command.

How to say and when to say, your reactions are completely unknown,

Sometimes you are nice, cool & sometimes, I am blown!

Job, kitchen, in-laws and social  responsibilities, we hardly get time to spend,

After the tiring days, the usual ugly fight at night’s end,

Probably, the teething problems of my wedding, anyway, they will go away with time.

Whatever is the tune of life, you and me, together, can make it rhyme,

After all, we were strangers who are now suppose to eat the common slice,

Handling all celebrations, discouragements together, this is what is called “Married Life”………..

The journey to a goal begins, but the goal of prosperity is not a fun ride,

Says an inner voice to me, your hand in my hand, we can cross painful tide,

What ever I do, whatever you do- right or wrong, say it, just never hide,

We may go wrong, may choose foul, but surely we’ll handle and guide,

Keeping a firm promise in mind and love in heart towards the relationship, we call it “the Married Life”………..

Who knows, the miles of walk for these strangers may turn into a lovers hive,

The hope, that if not now, we will understand each other, some day, some hour—makes us “Husband and Wife”!

And, the passion to keep this arrange marriage work, is called my “Married Life”……………
